Delayed Sleep is a psychedelic rock band from Sacramento California. Their hypnotic recordings have been played on several public radio stations such as KDVS 90.3 (UC Davis, California) and others throughout the country. To describe their sound listeners have described them as everything from psychedelic, to progressive to avante-garde to noise. Their personal musical interests include jazz, avante-garde, hip-hop, r&b, prog-rock, krautrock, 60's and 70's psychedelic music, experimental, garage and jam-bands, noise, and too many more to list.
Some of their musical influences include artists such as Pink Floyd (Syd Barrett era), Strawberry Alarmclock, The Pretty Things, Silver Apples, Faust, Amon Duul II, John Coltrane, The Kinks, The Doors, The Beatles, Can, Neu!, Gong, Magnog, King Crimson, SubArachnoid Space, Soft Machine, Sonic Youth, The Monks, Brian Eno, Matching Mole, Kraftwerk and others.
