"add n to (x) are Suicide gone lunar....quite simply brilliant"
....NME....
add n to (x) are set to release their new single
"Little Black Rocks In The Sun", the long awaited first outing for Mute Records.
Clocking in at over 11 minutes,
"Little Black Rocks In The Sun" is the band's third single and follows "Black Regent" and "King Wasp" both "Single Of The Week" in the NME when released last year.
Based in London
add n to (x) are Ann Shenton, Barry Smith and Steve Claydon, they take their name from a computer program command that creates an unknown electronic third force. Their wall of sound is created with the aid of two drummers and a large collection of ancient synthesizers and keyboards liberated from skips and junkshops.
add n to (x), who released their album "On The Wires Of Our Nerves" to critical acclaim in February, have spent most of the year taking their infamous live set around Britain, Europe and America. They will continue with dates at the Meltdown Festival on the 4th of July and with Pulp at Finsbury Park on the 25th. The band also make an early evening in-store appearance at Intoxica, Portobello Road on Wednesday 22nd July.
"Little Black Rocks In The Sun" will be pressed on extremely limited hexagonal shaped vinyl with interlocking fold out sleeve while the CD comes in a hexagonally embossed digi pak. The track is already a live favourite and could be a taste of what to expect from the album due on Mute Records early next year.
"As a demolition of the genre obsessed, this is about as good as it gets."
