Big fan of Ti West, although he does have a tendency to struggle with third acts overall

I was hoping for a more psychological Innkeepers style film, I didnt know it was a slasher going in and when I realised where it was heading my interest flatlined, essentially because slashers are generally too predictable and boring. The bloody genre peaked over 4 decades ago - Halloween and TCM will never be topped so why even go there?!

If you're a Ti West fan then I'd say it's still worth a watch as there are moments of inspired weirdness - as fleeting as they may ultimately be - to be found here. There's a prequel filmed and already in post-production releasing soon.
