have you tried bicycle? it's low impact and can be carried out indoors (my current mode)

i'm glad i'm not a runner. i hear runner's knees is how orthopedic surgeons pay for their yachts

question about running: is it a foot problem, a knee problem, a hip problem, or a back problem? and are you a heel striker? (just curious, sorry)
