In all the talk about what Hillary got "wrong" and what Trunp got "right" in reaching the American people, we can't blind ourselves to the fact that many of the people are extremely limited in their thinking. In-group biases are a fact of life, and I think this article (the Newsweek one) acctually does a fairly good job of illustrating this. We hear people unabashedly claiming that they want fewer "Hispanics" in their town.

I get that Hillary didn't run an ideal campaign, and as Symbols had said (in this thread or maybe in the "funny" one) it is a mistake to simply write-off Trump and his supporters as ignorant or bad people... but it's also a mistake to pretend as though ignorant and bad people were not part of what made this happen.

it's also a mistake to assume that democrats don't have their own army of ignorant and bad people as well, especially when seen from the point of view of a conservative. go read fox news and see how you're perceived--i won't repeat here but yes, there are other movies playing where you're the villain baby killer open-borders anti-american vet-disrespecting liberty-destroying economy-killing benefit-mooching usa-betraying god-hating smug liberal. democrats have done fucked up and if they keep playing the same broken record and don't change their ways they'll just keep winning some cities and losing the nation, one state legislature/governor's mansion/congress seat at a time.
