people are not going to simply give up when they cant pay the rent and the jobs disappear, they will survive whatever way they can. im trying to think about ways to do that and that article is a good example of the kind of theorizing we need.
almost every single time i bring this stuff up with people the response is ridicule or fatalist conservatism.
