Yup, its my favorite part. Blowing minds and clearing out the wreckage of ignorance, baggage, and prejudice. Kids are great people, once you present them honest opportunities to think for themselves while being properly informed. When folks accuse folks like myself of "brainwashing" kids with some kind of particular agenda I laugh in their face. That is the LAST thing I want to do, is have a bunch of clones of myself who will go out and preach the Gospel of making the same stupid decisions I made. Rather, I want kids to be the most informed, responsible, and intelligent about forming THEIR OWN opinions about how THEY actually feel about history, politics, art, and culture. Also, I am constantly inspired by discovering those "light bulb" moments when kids learn something not about the curriculum, but about themselves and their honest place in the world.
My only line in the sand is law enforcement. I respect kids decision to get into the police or military, but I try my fucking HARDEST to nudge them into something more productive like firefighting
