I don't think it's overrated anymore. Not in North America anyway. I think we all pretty much decided sometime around the release of Amnesiac that The Bends was no more representative of Radiohead than pablo honey.

It was my favorite of theirs for a long time. The first three tracks are perfect high school listening. But some of those songs are absolute filth. "Black Star"? It sounds like the Goo Goo Dolls. Radiohead is only really Radiohead from OK Comp forward. At least that's what most people seem to think. But it still got me through high school. I loved it for years, but I could not listen to it from start to finish at this point without ripping my hear out!!!
