They aren't THAT bad of a band.
It's obvious by your "new rock heroes" quote that you dont like them because of their hype.
You might not like their music, or whatever, but if noone had heard of them and they were never famous you would def NOT be shitting on them so hard.
It's just the truth.
I've never read pitchfork but I know friends of friends of deerhunter.
They have a few really good psychedelic "ballads" if you will.
But they dont have a good enough high energy side to match their bleak sad side...so it just becomes redundant and boring.
I think they are boring as fuck, BUT...I dont think they are a terrible band.
Eitherway, it's funny to watch two ppl with clashing opinions go at it so hard.
