Hell yeah man. I feel Beck is a bit underappreciated on this forum. But, I can't name just one favorite this year I'll give you 3
Beck- The Information
Sonic Youth- Rather Ripped
The Raconteurs- Broken Boy Soldiers

Runners Up
Bob Dylan- Modern Times
Johnny Cash- American V: A Hundred Highways

Xiu Xiu - The Air Force

There's a few. But I'll name:

Bluebottle Kiss: Doubt Seeds.

And it's a double album too. So there!

Ran Blake - All That Is Tied

It's a pity that its cover is one of the worst of the year,though.

 

My record of the year: Loose Fur - Born Again in the USA

Camera Obscura - Let's Get Out Of This Country.

Thank you! I thought I was alone in thinking it was an excellent album.

I was flamed for thinking it was Beck's best album since 'Odelay!'. Many of the other self-confessed music-boffs said it's his worst to date.

Anyway, that's my second favourite album of the year, behind:
