LOOP reform!
Apparently LOOP are reforming. Can't wait, this is going to be awesome.
Statement from Robin Hampson Thank You all... please be patient. News coming very soon. I will say this... the line-up is Mr John Wills (Drums) Mr Neil Mackay (Bass) Mr Scott Dowson (Guitar) and some grey haired old fool who should know better grumbling into a mic That's yer lot for now |
nice
|
I really hope this is for the sake of producing something new, not to participate in the nostalgia industry. Although Hampson has never seemed the sort to do anything just for the sake of money.

wooooo. I've been absolutely destroying heaven's end of late, such a brutal record.
they better come out to aus, I need some hampson in my life. hope this doesn't mean the end of main (again) though. |
Were Loop even popular enough for this to be a money/nostalgia thing?
|
I dunno, but a band like this might have a bigger following now than it had in it's heyday.
|
I'm excited. They were my favorite band at the time and have remained a major touchstone in all the years since.

|
It'd be nice to see Melly coming out of his Barrett period for this. And Demonrail too.

Setlist from Netil House, great show!
Soundhead The Nail Will Burn Fade Out Breathe Into Me Arc-Lite Afterglow Too Real to Feel Fix to Fall Collision Fever Knife Blood Straight to Your Heart Vapour Pulse Burning World Deadly(?)/Mother Sky |
holy shit that is a brilliant setlist. blood live would be insane! the only thing that could make that any better is a version of black sun, but regardless that's fucking awesome. what the hell is deadly?? volume??
I hate living in a dull shithole, god damnit. |
Yeah it was really fucking loud, ears are still ringing.
Deadly sounded like a new song. |
that's really cool, many thanks dude. so jealous.
|
Last night was brilliant. I'll be seeing them again in Brighton in a couple of weeks, and I'm very excited.
|
Saw them twice again this week and man were they fantastic.
I appreciate it's all old material but being too young to experience them 'back in the day' it's been great. They sound really tight too, the Bristol show nearly destroyed my hearing. Hopefully going to catch them a couple more times next year. Quote:
Just to clarify deadly is deadly doris by Can. |
Hope to see them next year.

much better than it has any right to be and actually feels more vital than loop did even in their heyday, the moments when hampson draws in his acousmatic works (on the final two tracks particularly) are fantastic. |
