Thurston in NME this week
In the Recommender section at the back about stuff he's into at the moment. He picks the Song That Changed His Life (Helen Forsdale by Mars) his playlist this week (Sparks, Swell Maps, The Slits, Hair Police and Negative Approach) and recommends Freaks and Geeks, Under The Covers, and noise artist Filthy Turd. There's a bit of an interview as well. I don't have a scanner or patience to type the whole thing out..

Thanks. Now I don't have to buy (or look at) that horrible magazine.
(And YAR! Thurston's been listening to The Slits! Good for him. So have I. We rule, me and he.) |
Freaks and Geeks what a wonderful show.
|
Has anyone seen the reformed Slits?
|
Quote:
They're not reformed. It's just Ari and Tessa and some new people. But yes I've seen Ari play this year and she's fucking rad. |
The Slits Played Dublin A Few Months Back. I Heard It Was Terrible. They Played For 20 Minutes And Walked Off Midway Thru A Song. Totally Dull. The Only Saving Grace Was That Ari Was Real Nice To People And Spent A Lot Of Time "mingling" And Chatting.
|
I met Ari Up a few years ago and she was pretty cool.
I should also have said that in the article Thurston mentions that he has the Mars track Helen Fortsdale as his phone ringtone.. |
