Has Mediafire been shut down?
 

I've been trying all day to download music from this site and i keep getting a page that says "the indexed file is unavailable" despite trying to download a bunch of different artists/albums.

anyone else having this problem?

Ok, just for kicks (and because work is slow and I'm sitting on my ass:) ) I've been experimenting and trying to download albums. I've tried "Sister", "Dirty", and "at war with the mystics" and all of them have failed. I've tried several links for each album and they're all down.

Some links are working on fuckyeahtheflaminglips.com, but that's it.

Something's definitely awry here.

I was just trying mediafire to see if it worked. I don't need some crappy mp3 copy of Dirty. I have three hard copies as is.

yes, they've blocked any links directed from Google. just copy the URL to the address line, that'll work.
