Bratislava gig Guide
Zbygnew Karkowski/Helmut Schaefer last week.
"Next" festival in November: ANDREA PARKINS & ANNE WELLMER (USA, NL) OTTO VON SCHIRACH (USA) PAN SONIC (FI) ALZHEIMER TRIO (SLO) TAKESHI FUMIMOTO/DIEB 13 & MARTIN SIEWERT (AT) MIKROKOLEKTYW (PL) FM (SK) Other than that - nothing. The city is DEAD, musically speaking. |
...but other than that it's a pretty nice city, isn't it? At least that's what I remember from about 10 years ago. I can't remember very much about the nightlife, but do you still have Globus? KGB's? Charlie's Pub?
For music Vienna isn't all that far I guess. |
Nope, Globus is gone. KGB is still there, although I rarely go there (shitty beer and bad people). Charlie's has been nest of British tourists searching for cheap kind of fun for last couple of days, so I don't go there either.
But yes, the city's been under a lot of reconstruction lately and it's much prettier nowadays than it used to be. Yeah, Vienna and Prague generally cover all my music desires. |
much prettier now than 10 years ago? i've been there 3 times but all were between 1995-1996.
|
yeah, it used to be quite a wasteland,
now the historic sights have been reconstructed and it looks much better, the streets are clean, the pubs are full of people and the streets are crowded with Japanese tourists. it's like Prague in little scale. |
What about U-cko? Does it still exist?
|
Now it's called SubClub, the ownership has been changed, some reconstruction have been made, but after all, it's still all the same underground hole.
