Should musicians move while they play music?
I reckon the less is better but then that's just me.
|
Have you seen At The Drive-in? They move flawlessly.
Along with Norma Jean and mewithoutYou. |
yes
|
No, they should sit down and bore the fuck out of the audience.
|
What if they move like G P-O?
I should post the video via You Tube, but I won't, because I don't feel like it! |
ha ha ha, a funny thread
should they? could they? would they? |
No,not even thinking of breathing.
|
They should not, could not, would not with a duck.
|
There are excepetions but they all live in my mind and not yours.
|
We can fix that.
Open your mind! Lets see the goods. |
Yes, unless they are The Velvet Underground.
|
if the music is really really good, ill excuse them for being boring cunts on stage.
|
only if they're not stupid and cliched about it.
cliched meaning: - jumping unesecarily on stage |
Can you imagine a stationary Julian Cope? Or Slash from G'n'R?
|
Don't care much for Slash but Cope is an exception
|
Moving: Yes.
Jumping: No. Bands who stand still all of the time are fucking boring. |
c is great but whe the music is supposed to be energetic and cathartic (a la Pixies) and they stand around bored (a la reunion pixies) then it sucks shit.
the most kinetic band I ever got to see was archers of loaf. |

hmm yes that's what i was trying to get across |

I didn't find the Pixies reunion boring. The Pixies were never big movers. All of the energy is in Frank Black's face. |
I think a band should concentrate on not being shite before they think about moving. However, if they forgoe the not being shite stage, then bouncing around like lunatics is always fun - anyone see Ash/ Symposium/ Idlewild in the early days? A handful of ok pop songs between them, fantastic bouncing and making knobs of themselves.
Also, hardcore bands should always move. Raised Fist = the ideal. |
