mac video help
can anyone tell me how to find out if mpg videos are pal or ntsc
|
i think file buddy should tell you.
im not positive as i never bothered getting it again since i reinstalled osx. im not sure if its free or if i downloaded it from a bittorrent site. also, if i remember correctly, theres a free prog called ffmpegx that converts files. i think it also gives you quite alot of info on the file youre converting. on the subject of mac, anyone know of a decent way to convert wmv files into something watchable? how i hate windows media. |
Terminal. If you are using video editing software like Final Cut Pro, iMovie or Adobe Premiere, you can open the mpeg file and check it's frame rate. If it's 25 frames per second it's PAL, and if it's 29,97 then it's NTSC.
Wax. Flip4Mac WMV 2.1 is pretty good software. It allows you to view WMV's using the Quicktime player. Check http://mac.softpedia.com for more info. Some stuff is free and some you'll have to pay for. |
yeah, i have flip4mac. its ok for some wmv files, but for others, its just as bad as wmp. i think my mac is on its way out anyway, so it might have something to do with that.
i just came back to say filebuddy doesnt get the format, but the ffmpeg thing can tell you. but tokolosh's way seems far easier. |
cheers guys
