oh...my...god... i see this in every record store i go to but i dont know what it is. can you explain?

Sufjan Stevens. I like him but he's nothing spectacular. Illinoise is by far the worst album of his.
They should go in this order:
Year of the Rabbit
Seven Swans
A Sun Came!
Michigan
the Avalanche
Illinoise!

Give it a listen.

Illinoise is a great album. Michigan and Seven Swans are great too. Actually all his albums are really worth checking out, even the new Illinoise outtakes album. Year of the rabbit is mainly an electronic album and a lot different from all his other stuff so I dont think I would start there.

Hes also coming out with a 5 e.p. christmas box set in november.

I love it. All his stuff is pretty quality.

absolutely agreed. I don't go much with the rest of his production, but Ilinoise is just great. As you said, especially chicago and the oh-so-sad gacy

Just avoid Avalanche. It's extra boring.
