How do you feel about the following musical acts?
Antony and the Johnsons
EDAN Quasimoto Parenthetical Girls Devendra Banhart CoCo Rosie Heroin Swing Kids |
I have never liked A&TJ's
Edan is a-ok, although i have only heard a few songs. Quasimoto- see "Edan" Parenthetical Girls rock. DB- see " Parenthetical Girls" CoCoRosie are ok. nothing marvellous in my opinion. Heroin- haven't heard. Swing Kids- if its the band i am thinking of.. i like them. |
anthony: i'm not too convinced
edan: i've been curious to hear, haven't yet. quasimoto: it's madlib's alter ego/alias, right? never heard either. parenthetical girls: haven't heard devendra: up until cripple crow, great! cocorosie: depends of my mood it's either good or boring. heroin: classic band, classic! swing kids: amazing awesome band!! another classic! |
You haven't heard LORD QUAS? Damn. I'll send it to you in a bit.
|
Antony and the Johnsons: don't care
EDAN: good Quasimoto: fantastic Parenthetical Girls: dunno Devendra Banhart: ok CoCo Rosie: don't like Heroin: whatever Swing Kids: dunno |
Antony and the Johnsons - heard of lots but never heard them / no opinion other than I suspect they might be overrated.
EDAN - I haven't listened to EDAN at length to form an opinion. Quasimoto - I haven't listened to Quasimoto at length to form an opinion. Parenthetical Girls - Among the very best, creative, and most lyrically clever twinkly melodic pop band ever. Devendra Banhart - Not really a fan, but I recognize his crucialness. CoCo Rosie - rich kid fakers ... way overrated. Heroin - Literally changed the face of hardcore and saved until metalcore ruined it. Swing Kids - decent first record, and fans who saw them live swear they were great, but they never enriched my life so much even when I was way deep into emo/HC 10 years ago. |
never heard of any of them, except Anthony and the Johnsons.

Come out from under your rock, grunge boy. |
I'm not a grunge boy. I just posted that topic because I thought it would make an interesting discussion.
I have also heard of Devendra Banhart. I haven't had much time to look at really obscure artists lately. |

What shite do you listen to? |
to sum it up, anything I think sounds worthwile.
I've been listening to tons of 80's alternative and punk lately, along the lines of Butthole Surfers, Mission of Burma, Jesus and Mary Chain..etc. (had I not have been introduced to these bands, I most likely would have ended up being a grunge kid, but the kind that listens to Nickleback and all that crap). My friend has introduced me to ESG, George Clinton, Dalek and NWA, all of which I think are really good (ESG in particular). |
AHHH. That kind of shite.
