Thinking fellers reform!
...For ATP in may! man, I'm dirt poor and really resisting the urge to splurge!
|
|
yeah this deserves its own website, never mind thread...it would make me very happy to see them again...and again...and again. I must've seen them a dozen times between 1990-1996...
|
This is going to be great. I was unsure about going before but this seals the deal.
|
Hmmm, Matador said they turned down reforming for Matador at 21. Guess the timing/money was better for this?

Matador don't do a good job of keeping their albums in print.
|
Awesome! Hope they'll play at Primavera as well.
|
oooooooooooooh! good news!!!!
|
are you going to ATP Pauly? i'm very tempted but can't afford tickets yet.
|
Didn't think they ever broke up. Kinda like Caroliner and Truman's Water; they never said they were broken up, just kinda you know... not doing anything.
Anyway, best "rock" band ever. One of the best bands ever, period. Thanks for this news! |

Actually, I e-mailed Matador a while back asking if their records would ever be reissued, and they said the rights had returned to TFUL long before, so why the band hasn't done anything with them is a mystery. ~Jeremy~ |
file this under holy shit:
http://www.last.fm/event/1910425+Thi...on+10+May+2011 man, i used to think Boston got screwed for shows sometimes, but so far 2011 has delivered Alvarius B, Come, and now the Thinking Fellers. |

i had the immense of pleasure of seeing not one but two shows over the last several days...incredible to see them on stage again.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afiMfHjQMKI i also had a pretty lengthy talk w/ them over dinner before the Boston show, and that will be transcribed/edited/posted in the next couple of weeks. |
Yeah, I thought they were awesome at ATP. Excellent setlist, Hurricane and Hornet's Heart were highlights for me.
I spoke to Brian on Sunday morning and he said they might be playing ATP NJ but apart from that they probably wouldn't be playing any more dates. |

A+++!!! Hey was this really in recorded in Williamsburg? I ask because it sounds like people are talking through the entire song. And thats what they do in Williamsburg these days. Can't wait to see your interview. I do recall they offically ended things, Jay was in Boston and Ann was in Portland and they were utterly discouraged after the tour with Live. They must've gotten some bad advice, when I saw them in Montreal I guess in 99 the crowd was apeshit. |
this was recorded in Jamaica Plain, right near where Jay currently lives. The talking was a few drunk people in audience, having fun (this was near the very end of the set). here are a couple of other vids (one more from that night, and one from ATP):
Cup of Dreams: http://www.youtube.com/user/narlus#p/u/0/C8chtnG-Ho4 Elgin Miller: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1y5_...el_video_title i'd be utterly discouraged if i had to tour w/ Live, myself. Anne's back in SF now. |
Midway Cafe up'd some more from the Boston show. Sno Cone, Cup of Dreams, Socket, The Operation, and More Glee. Here is a playlist.
