Did anyone manage to get the old board archived?
 

I know there was talk of getting the old board archived, but did it happen?

I want to find the "Real SY fans don't download" thread as material for a T-shirt. Failing that, can anyone remember the proper title of that thread?

i have a thread or two saved, i'm pretty sure.

maybe try archive.org. they have stuff from the old board saved from 2002.

i sure would like to see it again.

I submitted the old board's addresses to archive.org through the alexa crawl.


Sites are usually crawled within 24 hours and no more than 48. Right now there is a 6-12 month lag between the date a site is crawled and the date it appears in the Wayback Machine.

What's there so far (up until March of 2005) doesn't include the message board.

From April '05-March'06 is missing.

I couldn't get anything to come up with the folders of /gossip or /bboard/fanforum, but I submitted these. Since the new board also uses sonicyouth.com/gossip, it has perhaps kept the old ones from being able to be archived, but hopefully, the bboard/fanforum address that was also submitted will make it into the wayback machine at some point.

 

 

I just tried it again, & some of the pages from early 2005 do work & are partially there.

Some guy called 'deadbilly' with an Urkel avatar or something.

I had the same one. I made one post and then left. I was only like 12 or something though. I was an over-emotional little twat.

There was a deadbilly but there were no avatars. You were just watching Family Matters at the time.

Well its settled then. I find it strange that I have never watched Family Matters yet I happened to imagine an avatar out of nowhere.
