Wanna buy Lee's broken guitar?
Go ahead: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110621164083&ssPageNam e=STRK:MESELX:IT
btw: I tried to help the guy find a pic of Lee playing it, does anyone have pix or vid of that song from that era? Shouldn't be that hard... |
No, thanks.
|
Seriously? A non-jazzmaster guitar, that he barely used?
|
woah....

shared..
i'm wondering how much this item will be auctioned for. |
I wish there was no reserve price on kollaborations.
I'd love another copy :D. |
interesting... sometimes these neck thru body one piece guitars are fixable w/ broken headstocks (clamping and gluing) but from where it appears the break occurs it doesn't look possible or very troublesome to say the least... thus is probably why it ended up on auction in the first place. curious what those pickups are...
so far a bid was made that didn't make reserve... |
If it had no reserve it would be worth something just for the Bigsby.

thats what i was thinking, and maybe the pickups, they look like original epi-casino pickups which i don't know much about how they sound and quality. looks like the headstock was also not attempted to be glued... I also seem to remember Thurston playing this guitar or one almost just like it at least once though not in SY but in a vid for a show for one of the short live "college girls gone wild" group (Thurston Moore, Erika Elder, Matt Valentine, Dredd Foole, Paul Flaherty) anyone can confirm this too? Chris L? |
it's possible, I remember when I first heard from the seller a while back he thought it was smashed by Thurston, but I only remembered Lee ever using it.. investigate if you can!
good call on the bigsby...hmm... |
I checked the shipping to Estonia (where I live currently) for the guitar....
$965 hahaha |
this shit furreal?
|
that shipping is fucking insane. kill yr idols?

doubt there is one since the seller did not mentioned it in the ebay auction. hence why he probably mentions the gearography page on this particular guitar... |
i realized the guitar thurston was using in vids that i saw isn't this auctioned guitar. in the vids it appears to be an epiphone dot 335 type... first clue is the humbucking pickups on epi- dot 335s as epi casino's have P90 types? and also from what i can tell its different from lee's casino replacement the red epi dot because in the video the guitar has a tail piece that locks to the end of the body where lee's epi dot does not have this. ok so now the cherry red guitar thurston is seen using in the vids seems likely that it is an epiphone riviera, the tailpiece is another clue of this... also no sign of the bigsby which could've easily been a later add-on... but still not likely the same guitar.
the vid is linked to chris corsano's site (www.cor-sano.com) under video for the short lived group called college girls gone wild, there is also another vid i found on youtube that has closer up images of this guitar with this particular group performing at the bookmill. from what i can tell these vids are also probably archived on www.ecstaticpeace.com as well. another guess is the guitar thurston was using was borrowed and actually belongs(ed) to MV & EE??? who knows... |
too much of a risk not bidding haha
|
My girlfriend thinks I would sound much better playing this guitar than any of my current ones!
