favourite beach boys album?
 

mine is the 2cd bootleg i have of the smile sessions. i like most of their stuff up to the late 70's. anyone else like them?

Never really got into the Beach Boys. Maybe someday.

Now, the BEASTIE Boys, those I can talk about.

I only have Pet Sounds. It's good even though I don't listen to it much.

Not an album, but the Good Vibrations box set....Smiley Smile/Wild Honey split cd is pretty great too.

i really like surf's up/sunflower, but only for the brian wilson songs...the mike love songs are really lame.

if it was just an e.p. with "until i die" "a day in the life of a tree" and "surf's up" it would be fucking amazing. however, it also has love's "disney girls" and "student demonstration time" which both are annoying as fuck.

ha I'm with you on the sunflower/surfs up 2cd, though I pretty much love everything on there (even mike love) particularly the obvious brian wilson highlights and also bruce johnsons and carl wilsons songs. beautiful.

Pet Sounds. I want the organ that they solo on 'Here Today'.

I don't know much about the Beach Boys, esp. what album has what songs, but I know I do like that one song that's played at the end of Orange County. Actually, it's just a Brian Wilson song, and it's the song that's playing while he goes to his room to think everything over, and then comes down to tell his family he is not moving away. Actually, does anybody know the name of this song?

By looking at the soundtrack, I'd say Love and Mercy.

I like the Beach Boys as a band, but when I actually sit down and listen to their music, I don't like it that much. Brian Wilson is a pretty hilarious character, though. They're alright.

I like their stuff better when they got out of the whole "Surfin' USA" sound...
