yes "Biscuits" is such an amazing opener!!!! Also, once you get/love Prettey Tony, yr next stop is 718 by Theodore Unit. It's basically a posse record of outtakes from these sessions. "Gorilla Hood" is honestly fucking unbelievable.

not all that into Hip Hop but all these list without mentioning TuPac, or Warren G, or DJ Quik is pretty suspect. Where's the love for Fresh Prince and DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Kris Kross y'all?
|
All of my favorites are pretty obvious ones, I'm not too well versed in hip hop.
A Tribe Called Quest - Midnight Marauders, Low End Theory, Peoples Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm (what a tri-force of records) Madvillain - Madvillainy Wu-Tang - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) GZA - Liquid Swords Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique and Check Your Head Great Adventures of Slick Rick De La Soul - 3 Feet High and Rising Lately I've been listening to his record by Jedi Mind Tricks called Violent By Design, that might be one of my favorites. |
I don't think I've even heard 10 hip hop albums... Can I make a top 5 ?
1. dälek - Absence 2. Wu-Tang Clan - Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) 3. Viktor Vaughn - Vaudeville Villain 4. Antipop Consortium - Arrhythmia 5. MF Doom - Born Like This |

Tupac yes. Warren G... no. DJ Quik is awesome, but not Top 10 of all time material. |

I've always felt that dalek had outstanding production, but the emcee in that duo was always a little too weak for me to give them too much credibility. Quote:

1. wu tang
2. ghost supreme 3. FLESH OF MY FLESH BLOOD OF MY BLOOD / IT'S DARK AND HELL IS HOT TIE 4. word of mouf 5. that eazy e album 6. company flow 7. NECRO - I NEED DRUGS 8.
