so I just got the Sensational Fix book
 

and it's amazing.

Basically, yeah. Any SY fan that can buy it should buy it. Immediately.

it sucks that it took 2 years until I could find it at a decent price when I actually had extra cash. But yeah, wow. This book is really great.

It's been on my radar too. Half the fun, for me, is finding something that you really want for a good price when you least expect it!!

It's really awesome to see it in person. It's so huge. It's crazy.

Did you get the first edition?

nope, 2nd. Bought it brand new. Got it for $60 shipped. Felt awesome removing the shrinkwrap. But yeah, 2nd edition. Green + Red records.

is there any difference in content betwixt the 2 editions?

I don't think so. Jenn would know for sure.

I thought the vinyl color was the only difference. Nothing new textually.

something interesting I noticed in the book last night:

In the official discography of SY releases in the book (which even includes the Official bootlegs like Walls and Blastic Scene) the band includes SYR5 as a Sonic Youth release. Why I find this so interesting is because they do not include albums like Melbourne Direct or Without Kim. It's just interesting to me that SYR5 seems to be the one "side-project" that they feel is part of the SY-band cannon.

it is indeed. is it still the 7" version, or did they reprint it?

it is a 2010 reprint. But it does include 7"s.
