So a friend and I are setting each other the challenge of making the most miserable mixtape possible. I've got country music covered, and things like Lou Reed's Berlin, Jandek and whatnot, but I'd appreciate input because I'm sure there's things I'm going to miss. No instrumentals (unfortunately).

Not at all. I know she's asked the internet already, so I've no qualms about it.

Satie is a really good call, but also instrumental, so not appropriate. More like this or this, that'd be fine.
