Membership on a Wire Tapper free CD costs the artist £275 (+ VAT)
A bit pricey.
i haven't heard a new wire tapper cd in ages but they 4 or 5 i have are a bit rubbish really
Out of the 20 or so I have there's probably a CD's worth of great stuff.
I liked the earlier ones. There was some absolute gold given away with some of the free Wire CDs (that ESP one springs to mind) but not for a few years now.
Same. I rarely listen to the ones I have, I was just under the impression that they chose the artists they put on them. The only chance of me reading The Wire these days is by walking into the newsagent to buy chewing gum.
It's a shame. I can't think of anywhere else (paper-based) that serves my needs (except for Classical magazines and academic journals) but I'm incredibly tired of what the Wire does do.
havnt got one for ages. the wire we get here in canada is always behind by some months and the cd's are not available on them so...

That's an awesome idea. Yes, good call. I will warn you that I never stopped liking Gene though.
Now I say that - have you listened to the Longpigs at all in the last 10 years? They've aged astonishingly badly.
I've never heard. If I did, my loss of memory really is my friend. I've seen their name before, but again, they must have been too shit even for these patient ears.
Is it only me or a lot of good bands don't play in London because of the reputation these people (longpigs and the rest, you knox who) gave it?
Know, not knox. God bless her.

i think it's more a question of who is prepared to pay the £275 quid |
