Let's massacre a band Vol 5 - The Bee Gees
They suck.
|
they make me want to do horrible things with an axe
|
Don't crucify me for this, but I have often wiggled my arse to More Than A Woman, and To Love Somebody fucking owns. OK?
|
Ya know, at the time the BeeGees were 'happening' my nose was firmly pointed upward in a snooty fashion as I listened to serious music: Pink Floyd and Yes.
But since then, I decided that they were really good pop song writers and can appreciate they're music much more today. I ain't sayin' I'm gonna buy any albums or even 'best of's but I don't run away screaming when they play in the supermarket. And falsetto still bothers me. |
you can't massacre them... i mean, whatever you'll be doing, they'll be
stayin ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiveeeeeeeeeee Okay that was easy. |
they wrote and performed tunes for over 30 years
my mom used them as saturday cleaning music. |
This thread can fuck right off. Bad hair and too many teeth can't be allowed to deflect from the fact that 'How Deep is Your Love?' and 'You Win Again' are sonic masterpieces.
|
The Bee Gees at their best wrote superb songs. "How Deep is Your Love?"
(as demonrail mentioned.) "Night Fever" "Stayin' Alive" "To Love "Somebody", even "Tragedy". Yes, I'll admit to liking that song! Robin Gibb's solo career, however, is compelling evidence against the existence of God. |

The Bee Gees were awesome! They defined the disco music of the 70s.

Great thread!
