I was just about to come to SYG when I thought I'd go over to this RSH fansite because I'd been expecting something like this.
I never got to see him play. I wanted to go to ATP Sydney so badly, but I was thwarted by the over 18s policy. And then in October I was planning to see him, but then I realised it was the night in between two HSC exams. And then that it was over 18s.

Going to listen to Teenage Snuff Film and Pop Crimes tonight.

yeah this sucks balls big time, with a new album out and he was in the process of touring aus...

This is awful news, although not totally unexpected.
Roland was a big influence on the music I have listened to and played for the last 3 decades.

Oh man, this is freally sad news. This guy was a big inspiration to me. RIP to a real musical hero :(

I've only heard him in The Birthday Party, but he was an amazing guitarist. I actually searched the net for Teenage Snuff Film a week ago or so, but I couldn't find it.

This is fucking horrible.

Yeah, sad, although no great surprise - he's been in bad way for quite some time. I saw him do a show with Lydia some years back, and he was fantastic to watch playing. RIP.
