Are you into jazz/improv at all? Because John Zorn runs a club called the Stone that I always try to go to when I'm in New York. Most of the time I don't actually know the acts who are playing, but they've consistently been good to amazing whenever I've been. 2 gigs every night, so always plenty to choose from too. On the 16th there's one of the John Zorn Improv Nights, which are a little pricier than the usual gigs, but always have a great selection of mystery guests ETC.

Music aside, go to DiFara's. You won't regret it. The genuine New York pizza experience, best food ever, their plain slice is so good you don't even want topings yada yada yada. Remember to order ahead though, it's popular as hell (as it should be).

Fountains of Wayne will be playing an acoustic set on the 15th. Be there or be forever square.
