I just got Surrealistic Pillow and I really like it. Can anybody recommend any other good albums?

i really like their 1st one, jefferson airplane takes off. am yet to hear the others though!

That's so weird, I listen to Surrealistic Pillow earlier this week for the first time ever.

The original pressing of that LP in mintish condition is an audiophile tour-de-force. Really nicely recorded.

If you like The Airplane, I highly recommend checling out The United States Of America's self-titled LP and the subsequent "Garden Of Earthly Delights" by Joe Byrd and the Field Hippies, released during that same era. They're like the Airplane raised by the prepared-tape and labcoat Art Music crowd. Released on Columbia Masterworks, even.

That sounds like my wet dream come true!

That United States of America CD reissue is one of my favourite reissues of the last few years.

I've been digging those live Family Dog releases over the past few years, but the studio version of Crown of Creation is really one amazing distillation of all things psyche and pop.

yep, this is definitely my favorite Airplane album. Pointed Little Head is my second favorite.

Thanks for recommending these. I listened to The United States of America LP last night and it's great. I knew it was gonna be good when it opened with a circus collage and after Cloud Song I was hooked. I've yet to get the joe byrd one but I'll keep my eyes open.

Can you recommend anymore, I'd never even heard of The United States of America before so hopefully you know of some other gems.
