This thread confuses me. What is Dirty Projectors whatever, and who is Dave L?

How does one define oneself?

Dave Longstreth = head of the Dirty Projectors.

Dirty Projectors = long-deserving of some sort of indie-dwarfing, Beatles-level fame. They are bringing souls over to the other side.

Judging by this post and the one you linked to, you feel that you can affect lives and that lives can be affected my seemingly minor things. You feel a band can add 20 years to a life, and that an essay can save a life.

I'm not trying to say that isn't the case, because I am simply not in a position to do so. But based on my experience, I hope that you don't plan to test these methods in a truly life-or-death situation. If a train is coming towards you, please, get out of the way. Don't turn on your iPod.
