Reccomend me some Virgin Prunes
I only know 'Heresie', and it's an excellent record. Can you tell me if they have others in the same vein as this one?
ps: recommend |
Many years ago I had a girlfriend who was a massive Virgin Prunes fan, and her disc of choice was always ...If I Die, I Die
I find solo Gavin Friday more interesting. |
Go for ...If I Die I Die (it's produced by Wire's Colin Newman) as yr next one, it has their most famous songs and it's very diverse post-punk. After that, I'd probably go with The Moon Looked Down And Laughed, simply for the stunning track 'I Am God'.

I sold all of my Virgin Prunes records a long time ago, which I now bitterly regret. However, I still have their video, Sons Find Devils - A live retrospective 1981-1983 which is quite remarkable.
I'm sure it must be on Youtube somewhere. |
There you go...
It's not from Sons Find Devils but it will give you an idea of their live performance antics. |
I think A New Form of Beauty is stunning--very moving in places and ahead of its time. They get dodgy later on when the sound becomes very dated. Gavin is a gentleman.

Thanks everyone!

Heresie is very good indeed (probably better than If I Die I Die).
