Bands Covering Each Other on a Split Single
 

I think this is a really cool practice and wish more bands would do it. The only ones Ive heard of are the sonic youth/mudhoney one and the misfits/balzac one. They're both really good so lets uncover some more in this vein.

Also just for the fuck of it come up with one you wish would happen, this is what i thought of...

In that case, I wish it would happen.

Also Low/Yo La Tengo would work nicely.

cerberus shoal and alvarius b did it. Didn't the oxes do it with somebody? Converge and American Nightmare did it, I think -- it was some weird combo like that, they didn't "cover" each other; they wrote a song for each other to play. Ah, who else.. related but not exactly the same is the Sun City Girls/Thinking Fellers Union Local # 282 split where they both got together and covered Caroliner songs.

As for bands I'd like to see do it.. I'd like to see Captain Beefheart covering Guns N Roses and vice-versa.

Didn't The Frogs and Wesley Willis release a split with the songs "Wesley Willis" and "The Frogs", respectively?

coalesce and boy sets fire did it i think. same with coalesce and the get up kids.

Didn't some horrible punk band like Rancid do one of those with another horrible punk band like NOFX?

Mogwai and Fuck Buttons did it this year

The Billy Joel/Wolf Eyes split was pretty good.
