The Official Thurston Moore/Nels Cline "In-Store" Appreciation Thread
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=thurston+moore+nels+cline&sea rch_type=&aq=f
It is one of the best pieces of improvised music I have ever heard. It starts out so elegant and then total destruction. Both guitarists compliment eachother so well with their playing. Post any thoughts or comments you have about this record. Also if anyone has any information about this gig, any at all, please post it. I wish i could find the whole video of this beautiful gig. Any thoughts? |
glad you like it, man..
It's pretty entertaining. |
yeah, I'd love to see whole video. Jef, I think was PMing to the uploader of this video on youtube. I don't know if they did trade or not. maybe someone could try again.

if that's the one released on Rhino you're talking about, yes it's great.
|
not rhino...
It was actually not released on the Rhino Label.
It was a split release for a few different labels..... Quote:

I was talking to Nels Cline one time and he said that Jim O'rourke was considering putting it out on vynil but appearantly that project fell off his radar.
|
I caught Nels Cline's show in Charlottesville, VA this summer, and I was pretty blown away.
I was familiar with his work in Wilco, but I had never really heard any of his solo stuff until then. |
What's funny are all the Wilco fanboys who watch this and go "WTF?"
|
yes it's good.

Ghost is Born has some pretty crazy and good moments on it. Definitely felt a strong Jim O'Rourke influence throughout the whole thing. Also, Loose Fur is great... Maybe I just don't know any Wilco fanboys, but this can't be that shocking to them.................... ..can it? |
Wilco are nothing amazing, they just have some really solid songs.
