island diamonds is really good. theyre earlier stuff is hit-or-miss

thurston has a shitload of good bands listed on his individual myspace page under favorite music; mayhem, beherit, the fix, halflings, cathode secretion, mutant ape, pocahaunted, teenage jesus. he really does have great taste for everything, jazz, noise, rock n roll, punk, indie, the guy has his shit together.

la/brooklyn band. one member moved to ny this past summer ... heard a rumor they are done performing for a while, but who knows. never dug anything of theirs except the mouth of prayers cdr on blackest rainbow. its pretty tight.

It was after a show in Brooklyn a couple months back. A group of my friends were talking and the Pocahaunted chicks were agitated that no one was paying attention to them. They literally were complaining about it. Real twelve-year old shit. They needed a place to stay the night, so this one guy offered, but they said that they would only stay in a hotel in the city because they didn't want to be in a "poor house" in Bushwick. Typical entitled trustafarians. And I also heard that they were more or less "taught" how to play their equipment and didn't actually write their earliest material. Their music is great though, so I could care less, I love the split they did with Robedoor.

i like the new one and their side of this year's bored fortress 7" club was probably the best. i'm not too fond of the not not fun crew (they put out some good stuff and the bored fortress club is fucking ace every year).
