Like Boredoms "super ae"?
Cromagnon's "Orgasm"... uhh... I dunno, primitive music with people beating on shit... And yeah, chrono trigger rules. That song always reminded me of one of the songs on the Residents' "Commercial Album". |
when i read the thread title i immediatly thougt of The Cramps!
|
Makes me think of Ted Nugent for some reason. Probably the loincloth.

Hehe, yeah. Gwar also comes to mind |
I've never heard anyone but myself use the term caveman rock. It was how I was going to describe my next band, because I was going to use really simple "caveman simple" live drum loops.
|
you mean like lester bangs saying about the troggs' fans living in caves and shit?
i think brian was taking the piss out of the interviewer there. |
|
I've heard the term thrown around before and I think (not sure) that it just refers to 60s garage bands. Garage=Cave=caveman rock
Check out a Pebbles compilation. They're yummy and not at all fruity. |
My initial thought was boredoms too. I always wanted to make some music with a lot of primal sounding beats and drums and shit.

thats actually a really cool idea, like tribalistic noise rock.
it could be cromagnon or 'super ae' as atsonicpark brilliantly pointed out, or it could be am rep noise rock, or lo fi punk blues? i think triablistic stuff works best. |
if by caveman you tribalism, then listen to crash worship or tad or something like that.

once you get past the sounds at the beginning this is pretty much what i would consider "cave rock" |
sightings earlier stuff has quite a cavemanish vibe to my mind, as does mouthus

Makes me think of like "She's In A Bad Mood" or just a lot of CONFUSION/BAD MOON era drumming.
