A new Organs of Battle track - Barajas

Let me know what you think.

Florya 09.15.2008 02:49 PM

No takers?

OK I'll take it down.

█████████ 09.15.2008 03:21 PM

downloading...

sarramkrop 09.15.2008 03:22 PM

Same.

Florya 09.15.2008 03:25 PM

Cool. Sorry it's so big. didn't want to compress it just yet.
It's only about 5 minutes long.

Florya 09.16.2008 11:16 AM

Stunned silence.

I'm used to that :)

█████████ 09.16.2008 11:16 AM

i find this one a bit too vague and slightly disconnected.

Savage Clone 09.16.2008 01:54 PM

Just saw this.
Processing...

Looking forward to it though, as I have enjoyed all the Organs Of Battle stuff I've heard in the past.

Downloading now on the basis of this comment.

Pretty damn fine, I would say. I've not heard anyone be that confident for a long time, although I'm a bit iffy on the recording. It makes me want more longform things. Do you have longer things? And have you heard the Wastell/ Mattin 'Vault' record? You may enjoy it.

MellySingsDoom 09.16.2008 04:31 PM

Just giving your track another listen, Floyra - nice cracked electronics, and a good use of space & dynamics as well. Like Glice, I'd like to hear more in a longer context. A very good effort though.

That's weird. Back in the day (20 odd years ago) when we first started doing this type of stuff, people used to say "It's OK, but it goes on a bit". Our tracks were a bit longer then though.

Now people want longer versions. I guess it shows how musical aesthetics have changed.

Truth is - this track is limited by its construction - there was only room for 154 piano notes and if they were played any faster or slower they wouldn't have sounded right - so it's as long as it is.

Thanks for all the comments guys, and Melly - well done for listening to it twice :)

Disconnected - nice. Thats the sort of reaction I was hoping for. :)

Savage Clone 09.16.2008 06:40 PM

Highly enjoyable.
Would make an excellent companion piece to Stapleton/Tibet's "The Sadness Of Things" or Korpses Katatonik's "Sensitive Liberated Autistiks."

Praise indeed!
Thanks Mr Clone. Glad you liked it.

Bloody Hell!

I've just listened back to the track I uploaded and there are parts missing!

I'll get it sorted and re-up.

Bugger!

Excellent work, Florya. And the recording is perfect too.

Florya 05.10.2009 03:07 PM

Thanks. It's my first effort with all my new gizmos.
