The Loop
Create a loop using a maximum of 5 within one piece of music and post them on here. Write as much information about them as you want and don't add any playing of yours on top of it (unless the loop is created by your own playing an instrument etc)
Rules: 1. You can use any sound source for as long as it is sound. That includes voice, ambience sounds, guitar, keyboards etc. 2. You can mix five loops together but not more than that. They have to be loops of a sampled source and not single samples. OK? 3. You don't have to be a musician to do that so anyone can do it. First one is 3 loops I've created and mixed together from samples of Pink Floyd's ''interstellar Overdrive'': http://www.sendspace.com/file/my05ol The second one is from some crap indie unsigned thing. I've sampled a tiny fraction (literally 4 or 5 seconds) and slowed it down and looped it to good effect. I put this on to go to sleep sometimes, when I don't want to listen to any music: http://www.sendspace.com/file/g35dh4 |
I am listening to the first one, I want to play, but can't have no way of doing it.
|
Porky, I love the first one, it is amazing.
|
Cool, thanks. Get going, it can't be that difficult to make some noise, eh? Use your imagination and creativity.
|
I would but don't have the software to do it, and I am on mac.
|
Sure, if there were enough people making them you could even have a whole mixtape of them. Unrelated, but why does Jico always deletes his posts? Just wondering if it is some sort of way to appear mysterious.
|
I'll make one later this week. I've been meaning to experiment with my equipment I just got, and I've got a lot of weird instruments here. I even have a tape of weird experimental music my friend made that I was going to sample from.
|
I did mine wrong. I thought you just wanted a loop with 5 layers, not a piece of music using up to 5 loops.
What software did you use for that first one? Is there any free sampling type software I can mess with? |
Here's my loop anyways:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/0k596e It started out with 3 layers of effects pedals fedback on themselves to create self oscillation blips and bloops. Then I got a funky sci-fi guitar sound and strummed some muted strings. Then I played some 5ths with the same sound, but attacked the strings differently so it sort of sounded organ like. I sped it up a bit, added some high pass filter, and then I might have reversed it, I can't remember. |
i'm going to record today and that means loopfest.

Remove "delete" from your link, or someone will accidentally delete your loop. |
Nearly all of my music falls under the above criteria.
http://www.myspace.com/leadsister2 Sounds were looped off of this and other similar monstrosities: ![]() |

Can you really sleep to that? The part where it goes back to the beginning is quite jarring. Anyhow, I like the first one vey much. |
Alright, here's my loop:
http://www.mediafire.com/?vumtchug4ux This is a showcase of how completely inept I am with Fruity Loops. The first and last sample are taken from "Arrival at Venus (New Sensations)" by The Voices of Walter Schumann. I doubled part of the first one's length by running it backwards and adding it to itself. This was just a weird random download from ShowAndTellMusic.com, same as the other sample, "Countdown to Revolution!" by The New Creation. The rest of the stuff is just random Fruity Loops stuff that I messed around with. |

I'm enjoying this music. It is enjoyable to my ears, oh yes. |
Aw, Bless!
|
I just got an old version of Ableton live. I'm still figuring out how to use it. It is really powerful. But I might make a new loop song later
|
Keep them coming.
|
i'll do mine. it's just that i procrastinate a bit.
