What is the "fringe" scene?
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the "fringe" scene? In fact, what is "fringe" music? I hear it directed at SY's music sound today? if it is then what are some other cool "fringe" bands? thank you.

I used to call myself fringe as an invented term since "punk", "indie", "alternative", etc. were all cliche. Actually I called myself a Fringe Roller (as opposed to a rocker).

i thought it referred to artists and musicians whose work had gone further than the avant-garde, into what may be considered insane. i'm probably wrong, though.

Fringe traditionally meant to be on the edges, outside of something. Being on the fringes of society meant you were an outsider looking in from the 'fringes' of society. It means edges, like that Christian Wolf song on SYR 4: Goodbye 20th Century. 'Click on it' 'Click on it.' Although how it is used in the context of describing rock music, I'm not too sure.
