david byrne is much more crazed than happy.

he falls in the category of makes me happy, rather than is happy. i should have specified which one is each

i like the rest of your choices, especially alan bishop, and panda bear has a beautiful voice. satomi from deerhoof is great. wayne coyne from anything of the lips alblums prior to at war with the mystics (his voice was one of the most annoying aspects of that very annoying alblum), arthur lee anyone?

once i saw your post on the cap n jazz thread i came straight here to add him, but you beat me to it. he's a happy/sad to me.

oh yeah, tim kinsella is the singers name if you're wondering.

lots of people's voices make me happy. but lots of those people have sad voices.

joey ramone bleated like a goat. it's great.
i generally prefer really not-happy music and especially really not-happy vocals.

Becuase they used to be so good but now are not?

how is that possible with such ridiculous musical stylings such as
"turn it on"
"frogs"
"talkin bout the smilin deathporn immortality blues" (i think thats the proper title?)
and how could we forget "she don't use jelly"

of course they do have later work which is maybe sad or more tranquil sounding, my personal favourites being "do you realize?" and my very favourite flaming lips song, "are you a hypnotist??"

Their music just has a sad quality to it, for me.

Actually my Favourite Lip's song is one of their saddest. ""You Have to Be Joking (Autopsy of the Devil's Brain)"
And the proper title is "Talkin' 'Bout the Smiling Deathporn Immortality Blues (Everyone Wants to Live Forever)"
