`which singers can always put a smile on your face, or that they seem to be prepetually happy?
for me brian wilson avey tare/ panda bear david byrne david thomas thurston moore the chick from melt bannana the singer from the sparks alan bishop |
david byrne is much more crazed than happy.
|
he falls in the category of makes me happy, rather than is happy. i should have specified which one is each

agree. also: Tim DeLaughter from Tripping Daisy / The Polyphonic Spree Wayne Coyne from Flaming Lips. |
alison wolfe from bratmobile. well, she could fall under the catagory of angry too. happy angry.
|
brian wilson is NOT happy.
i like the rest of your choices, especially alan bishop, and panda bear has a beautiful voice. satomi from deerhoof is great. wayne coyne from anything of the lips alblums prior to at war with the mystics (his voice was one of the most annoying aspects of that very annoying alblum), arthur lee anyone? |
stephen Malkmus
the guy from Cap'N Jazz |

once i saw your post on the cap n jazz thread i came straight here to add him, but you beat me to it. he's a happy/sad to me. |
hmm, strange.
|
oh yeah, tim kinsella is the singers name if you're wondering.
|
lots of people's voices make me happy. but lots of those people have sad voices.
|
joey ramone bleated like a goat. it's great.
i generally prefer really not-happy music and especially really not-happy vocals. |
Wayne Coyne
|
The Flaming Lips make me sad.
|
Becuase they used to be so good but now are not?

"turn it on" "frogs" "talkin bout the smilin deathporn immortality blues" (i think thats the proper title?) and how could we forget "she don't use jelly" of course they do have later work which is maybe sad or more tranquil sounding, my personal favourites being "do you realize?" and my very favourite flaming lips song, "are you a hypnotist??" |

Their music just has a sad quality to it, for me. |

And the proper title is "Talkin' 'Bout the Smiling Deathporn Immortality Blues (Everyone Wants to Live Forever)" |
Bjork - In The Sugarcubes' song Birthday.
Joey Ramone definately. David Kilgour from The Clean. |
