Websites with free sounds on them?

Inspired by Nefeli's frog sound thread, I was wondering if you by chance know any good sites full of downloadable sounds I can use for my music?

I'm a user of the two following excellent ones:

www.soundtransit.nl - great terrain sounds and field recordings
http://freesound.iua.upf.edu/ - The Freesound project - excellent source of material, tons of sounds

I was more pointing out to the direction of more vocal samples (vintage folk recordings or 'ethno' sound) as well as radio transmissions, human speech and the like.

Anybody can hook me up with some nice sites like that?

I've used the freesound one that you've posted a while ago. I've also used some samples of the London tube for a photography exhibition soundtrack from another website that seems like it has been taken down. I'd say grab that minidisc recorder, dat etc and make your own. It's more creative.

My roommate has got the minidisc, but I'm too lazy to go out and distract myself from this splendid message board world.

...

I might try it though.

It's been a while since I went round London with a mic and a minidisc recorder. I wish that I had more time off work to spend doing it. The resonancefm forum is full of people who might help you better than on this one. Nef, it wasn't me who told you.

Thanks a lot, princess.

That is actually pretty damn great, nefeli. thanks!

Listening to it, I will sure use a great portion of these sounds. Echoed and reversed.

audiosparx.com - 250,000 sound fx..... the site costs but if you have a stream recorder you can rip it all for free

Usually they will ask that if you use the sounds you list their site in the liner notes (but I don't do that, they can't track me down).
