enjoy. I got to see the Liars open up fr Interpol, and it was kind of shitty. I could not tell if the Liars were playing up to the mostly loser crowd that shows up at Interpol shows, or if they just sucked. I hope they did not just suck. Interpol shows are full of people who never rock, rarely go to rock shows, and Interpol, sadly, is for them the rockinest thing they would see all year. Liars was very subpar .
I want to see them again though. |
yeah im really lookin forward to it...
thurston 9.00pm then a quick dash and a burger to catch liars at 11.15pm... again people, ignore the official times of 8pm, liars is at 11.15pm! |
Belfast on Wednesday! ^________^
|
That's very kind from the band.
I saw them in Paris. I would say the show was uneven, with great rocking moments and songs that were not up to their impact on record (Protection, The Other Side of Mt Heart Attack). Still really fun seeing. And the rocking moments were quite quite good, with the pit moshing madly on those occasions. |
liars-S/T alblum is the pussiest move a band has ever made, and then opening up for Interpol? Gimme a break. Everyone ripped on Liars when they put out TWWSWD, because they deemed it unlistenable, yknow what tho, i like that alblum, it showed liars had balls and did things they wanted to do, Drums Not Dead followed this experimental vein and i think that alblum was a bit pretentious indeed, but brilliant none the less and one of the best of 06. Now liars put out this boring regular old rock alblum and tour with interpol. fuck that.
|
I've heard some bad things about this tour, how were they last night?
|
they rocked. fucking rocked. loud noisy, ridiciuosly camp. a lot off drum was played and a couple off the new album and an amazing version of they fenced our gardens. i loved em.
|
Cool, were HTRK supporting and did you see any of their set?
|
no i didnt but i know they didnt play cuz their flight was delayed or someting. bats played alright but they had just finished by the time i arrived....

HTRK played in Paris. I didn't know them. They're quite young and what comes first to my mind is : morons or poseurs. Their music is great and stifling, ok, but looking so pissed doesn't add at all. The guitar sound is beautiful, it never ends while the notes coming out of the bass don't last, which creates something awkwardly pretty. |
I missed bats last time they were up in Belfast, Liars have requested no local support so I doubt we'll get them up here :( Looking forward to this now
|
Yes! Brilliant! Ranks alongside Prince and The Melvins for my gig of the year
HTRK were good too, but Bertrand is right they were a bit posery, trying to look all disinterested in everything |
