My art Class today
 

i need some help planning my art class for today
i want to teach the kids a little bit about andy warhol(woops) and some of the paintings he has done and get them to try reproduce their own

any ideas?

um talk about his use of pop culture imagery and colour and use of space and whatnot
wait how old are these kidS?

yeh its not so much of the theory
its more about the work they do, i want them to do some paintings in the style of andy but im not sure on how i go about it

Get some stencils and black markers, then give them watercolor to paint over.

stencils of what?

Dogs, cats anything, you can think of.

make them draw stencils, give them spraypaint and turn them loose

nah cant use spray paint sorry, its in a small room, not a proper art room.
i was thinking i could get them to draw a bowl of fruit thats in front of them
then i will photocopy it and they have to colour the picture different colours for each copy, then we can stick them on some black card

You can get several cameras and make films.

depending on how long the class is maybe just spend today exposing them to andy warhol and his art and tomorrow you could actually have them make some art.

you could make potato stencils (google it, it's easy). then get the kids to dip the potatoes in different coloured acryllic and press on large white paper.
