Low is soft.

yeah, the first thing i thought was low.

but even though they're technically soft (and a cure for insomnia), they move my heart strings too much to be "soft rock".

They don't rock heavy, but they rock dense, and that's a lot heavier.

For purely nostalgic reasons, Christopher Cross (my Dad used to play his albums a lot).

Christopher Cross was born the son of a lawless man, always spoke his mind with a gun in his hand.

Not terribly convincing, true, but still, an attempt at badassness that puts him ahead of Air Supply if you ask me.
