mark mothersbaugh
is an amazing man. he was at a screening of a movie for which he'd done the score [the big white] tonight, i wasnt more than five feet away from him but unfortunately no meeting. but he talked before the film, about working on tv and movie scores and w/ devo on occasion and about how he used to put subliminal messages into the music he composed for commercials. because he is just that talented.

that's pretty cool. Ah, I'd love to have a chat with Mark, he seems like a really cool guy. That song, "Peek-A-Boo" is such a fucking masterpiece.

sounds cool like that, the screening that is i've got an '80 soundboard of them in Boston...some other ones too but that's the best one...i'd have to dig it out for CHOUT |
I got a copy of 'The Men Who Make The Music' video that was put out in '79. This video store by my work had it mixed in with all the crappy music videos, so I was quite surprized to find it. It's got some brilliant live performances, with a bunch of the videos up to that point (like The Day My Baby Gave Me A Surprize ;)). I hope they put that on dvd!

There is an article on him, in this month's Wired magazine. You can probably read it online at wired.com
