I namechecked Penderecki solely on the soundtrack for The Saragossa Manuscript, which is one of my favorite soundtracks ever.

His stuff is all over the new Lynch film and it works pretty well.

I know Takemitsu did the Woman in the Dunes soundtrack but I can't recall it all that well. I'm pretty sure he scored some other Teshigahara films, namely Pitfall and Face of Another. The score for Pitfall is ace and it is an ace film.

I think he did some bits and bobs for some Toshio Matsumoto short films but I haven't been able to identify which ones. Some of those have ace soundtracks but, as I said, not sure who did what.

The music in the original Star Wars trilogy was great. He is a very talented composer.

The only composers who have made compelling enough scores for me to know them by name are Ennio Morricone and John Williams.

Hitchcock movies have great scores too, but I don't know who did them.

that's more a case of publicity, when you get hired by every oscar nominated, blockbuster would be movie, it's hard to go unnoticed.

I don't who you all are talking about.

Alls I know is I saw this movie the other day, a musical called Phantom of the Opera. I didn't check the credits, but whoever wrote the music for that is great!

Oh, and Bernard Hermann, who did some Hitchcock stuff and Taxi Driver among others.
