I feel the opposite way, unfortunately -- to me HASHISH sounds like a demo not a final song, and a bit boring - like you have mentioned recalls Sunday and partially instrumental breakdowns of Smoke of Dreams or even Ceasefire

too bad that Thurston relies so much on his Sonic Youth and even previous song based LP legacy, nothing new

I agree, Thurston's written "Hashish" several time before. It's good, but we've heard it already.

I miss Sonic Youth stuff, they would always go for something more exceptional - than a poor quality photo with bad typography approach (or at least they could easily make it iconic eg.: Washing Machine)

I dig Cantaloupe. straight up punk rock track with a nice guitar solo in the middle which sounds to me like something from 70ies
