Band like Lightning Bolt but with guitarist?
 

Can anyone give me a band or two that is like lightning bolt but instead of playing bass the guy plays guitar? this guy in my local record shop was telling me about hem...cant remember the name. anyone know?

hella, maybe? not really like LB, but similar in some ways. On some of their records. Not all.

afrirampo maybe? - its 2 girls one plays the drums and the other one plays guitar.
Lightning bolt are more radical tho.

USAISAMONSTER? I don't know why but people reference those two together all the time. Probably was Hella though, on their first two records (Hold Your Horse Is and The Devil Isn't Red).

Maybe he meant Mouthus? Pink and Brown? Vampire Belt? Not all of those sound like Lightning Bolt, but they're all drum/guitar duos.

It can't be Ruins if we're talking guitar instead of bass. Was it a duo or do they have more members? Noxagt has drums/guitarist/bass... It would've been easier if you were asking for a band like Lightning Bolt that had a baritone sax instead of a bass. That could only have been Yoke & Yohs.

For some reason, I thought coachwhips too even though they sound nothing like lightning bolt. they do have the shitty production though!

my band has played with clan of the cavebear, they do sound great similar but different to lightning bolt, the one record they have right now is quite awesome.

vampire belt and mouthus are abit noisier than lightning bolt. hella is closer in drumming style... haven't heard enough pink and brown. coughs are full on band sound.

btw, whats up w/ hella and the vocals i think they sound like shit now.
