I saw that - it's the first time in ages that I've sat there staring at the TV slack-jawed and going "oh... my... God..."

The whole thing was pretty abhorrent, but the worst bit for me was the fact that they would rejoice at ANYONE'S death, on the basis that they must have been a sinner or else they wouldn't be dead. And that applies even to one of their own. They're going to be one confused bunch of kittens when their pastor pops his clogs.

But if they'd have been picketing them because they were anti-war, people would have found that more acceptable. I found their picketing of other churches, and their delight at one catching fire, more appalling.

i don't think i could find any sort of funeral picketing acceptable. what about the Swedish furniture thing that was just funny!

I'm not sure exactly who you guys are talking about, but I can guess what they're like.

this happened recently in oklahoma. a soldier was being burried and all around the funeral site, people were holding signs telling this dead kid's mother that her son died because GAWDHATESAMERIKA and GAWDHATESFAGS.

I believe that they just passed a law stating that a soldier's name and picture cannot be used by unless given permission by the relatives. I'm not much for endorsing more laws, but I can live with this one.

Out of the Louis Theroux docs I have to say I found the one a few years ago where he was hanging around with prussian blue etc a bit more disturbing, at least the godhatesamerica crowd are committed to non-violence.

What interested me the most was that lad Theroux was talking to who went there as a documetary filmmaker himself and ended up converting. That just struck me as wierd.

They are fucking pissing me off, not because of the gay bashing. I can deal with that, but for picketing a soldiers funeral. Ah I fucking hate them, they even show where they will picket, fucking bastards, these are not truly the people of god. How can you do that to a family who just lost their son or daughther. I don't usually say this, but I hope one of their sons die. I will be happy if that where to happen. If one of them died I would be happy, this family obviously lived in the outskirt of society, to come up with such a dimwit view of religion. I also hope that one of them comes out to be gay, or it is found out that the father or the leader is a child molester. I would be happy, and gladly spit in his face. AH FUCKEN SHIT ASSHOLES. Sorry I needed to vent out, I don't agree with doing the army and all tht bullshit. Or the war, but to picket a soldier's funeral is just despicable.
