Pete Shelley 1955-2018
|
(Cue all the incompetent writers who will name the band as "The Buzzcocks" — it's just Buzzcocks, you morons, because as Pete said, Buzzcocks is the definitive article.)

In November of 1993 I saw Nirvana play Fitchburg, MA (The Breeders opened). They were great. Kurdt mentioned during Nirvana’s set that he saw Buzzcocks play the Paradise in Boston the evening before. That was enough of an endorsement for me. I ran out and purchased Singles Going Steady the very next day. Oh boy, what a classic. It doesn’t get much better. Mr. Shelley will be dearly missed. RIP.

John Wesley Harding - When The Beatles Hit America
The Beatles are being beamed off into outer space By a waiting spaceship, which takes them to a better place A place where no one knows them A place where reunions are not expected of anyone Not even the Buzzcocks |
This band was SO good.

Much respect to Buzzcocks, but I have always found their music to be boring. RIP Pete Shelley.
